American actor Tyrese Gibson's slut-shaming rant against "overly aggressive and promiscuous" women, who are "never without a man", has landed him in hot water.

Fans of the Fast And Furious star took offence at his 'sexist' remarks and slammed him on social media for his unsolicited opinion on women with an active sex life.

It began when the 39-year-old actor went over-the-top while speaking his mind during the promotion of his upcoming movie, Fate Of The Furious.

"I appreciate all the ladies out there that are still single and they're holding out. Don't settle," the actor told entertainment site BET. "This might be harsh but sluts, skeezes, hoes, tramps, and overly aggressive promiscuous women are never without a man because they have no standards. They're ready to have sex with any and everything that wants to have sex with them."

His bizarre rant continued as he said, "But when you are single and you actually love yourself and you know your value, you'll hold out until God sends you what's yours."

He concluded by talking about the so-called consequences of leading such a life. "You have women that are out here active out in these streets, they going to lunches and dinners every night. Private planes, mega yachts, it's cracking. They're never without. However, it comes with a cost, you gonna put a lot of miles on yourself down there, come on," Tyrese said.

Fans took to social media to lash out at the actor following his "disappointing" remarks typecasting women. Some infuriated users on Twitter even slammed the Grammy-nominated singer by bringing in his alleged abuse of his ex-wife into the conversation.

"I feel like what tyrese said equally applies to men but because we live in a misogynistic society women are the only ones judged (sic)," a Twitter user shared, while another questioned the relevance of the sudden rant.

"Who asked Tyrese for his opinion on women and their relationships anyways? Just promote the new Fast and the Furious movie and leave," a tweet read.
