Real Madrid's James Rodriguez unleashes a free-kick thunderbolt in Fifa 16 EA Sports

EA Sports has released the demo for the latest in its series of hit football games, Fifa 16, on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The demo includes 12 teams and a chance to play the new Draft mode for Fifa Ultimate Team (FUT).

Users will be able to play as either Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Monchengladbach, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, River Plate, Seattle Sounders and the US and German national women's sides.

FUT Draft is a new mode announced at EA's Gamescom press conference that offers a way to improve your core FUT team with an additional team that you build from a series of randomly drafted players. FUTers (we're calling them that now) can then take on up to four online opponents to win rewards. The mode offers a way for players to play as higher-rated players immediately and better understand how team chemistry works.

Regular exhibition matches run with four-minute halves while FUT Draft games have six-minute halves. Borussia-Park, the CenturyLink Field and Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu are the stadia on offer to play in.

Fifa 16 was revealed back in May with the announcement that women's football will be included for the very first time. At Gamescom IBTimes UK spoke to series' senior producer Nick Channon about the game and the improvements being brought in.

The demo will be available to download from now until Thursday 10 September ahead of the game's full release on 24 September.
