Overview

Belgium sealed a place in the World Cup after topping their group during the qualifiers. Marc Wilmots's men were unbeaten in Group A and finished on top of the table after winning eight of their 10 matches.

The team ranked 11th are one of the dark horses of the competition and would be looking to start the summer tournament in Brazil on a brighter note with a victory on Tuesday. In the last two friendly fixtures before the start of the World Cup, Belgium won comfortably and managed to keep two clean sheets in the process.

Meanwhile, Algeria topped the group table after winning five out of the six games and made it to the play-offs. The African nation defeated Burkina Faso 3-3 on aggregate and sealed a place in the World Cup after winning the two-legged tie on away goals.

The first leg was away from home as Vahid Halilhodzic saw his side suffer a 3-2 defeat. In the match at home, Algeria scored a narrow 1-0 win and the away goals helped them make it to the tournament in Brazil.

What Managers Say

Marc Wilmots (Belgium): "Pressure, you know, it is worse if you have child who's ill and in hospital. That's pressure. Here there is no pressure. We have made huge step forward in just a few years so let's put things in perspective."

Vahid Halilhodzic (Algeria): "With the Belgian defense, they are not all Ferraris either, you know. Belgium does have a certain weakness here. They have a good team. They are dangerous offensively, that is true. But we have strong organization. It will be like a chess match."
