Hacked Fox News Obama assassination hoax done in the name of Anonymous' Operation Anti-Security

The hacker group "The Script Kiddies" has claimed responsibility for the hack and subsequent false set of tweets reporting U.S. President Obama as dead on Fox News' Twitter feed.

The Script Kiddies claimed responsibility for the hack in an interview with the U.S. Stone Brook University's paper THINK.

The news came after the Huntington Post published the first article revealing that Fox News' Twitter account had been hacked.

In the interview the unnamed Script Kiddies representative claimed that the group had close ties with the larger Anonymous hacker collective. "I would consider us to be close in relation [to Anonymous], 2 of the members of our group were members of Anonymous," commented the Script Kid. Adding, "I was a member of Anonymous. We hope to be working with them soon."

In the interview the source also revealed that the hack had been perpetrated in the name of Anonymous' ongoing Operation Anti-Security. The operation is the name used for the hacking collective's ongoing campaign against any and all governments, companies or individuals it sees as wrongly trying to moderate or censor the internet.

"We are looking to find information about corporations to assist with antisec. Fox News was selected because we figured their security would be just as much of a joke as their reporting," commented the Script Kiddies representative.

In the interview no specific reason was given past Fox News "iconic" status within American culture. The Script Kiddie representative went on to clarify that the hack against Fox News is to be the first of many carried out by the group commenting, "It will be a never ending battle".

Later adding, "The names change from time to time like LulzSec and Anonymous or Script Kiddies. But their will always be a group of people that need to stand up for everyone else and attempt to keep the government in balance with it's people. Without groups like Anonymous, what is there to prevent corruption?"

Anonymous is yet to comment on the Script Kiddies statement.
