Frances Bean Cobain has been ordered to pay her estranged husband Isaiah Silva temporary spousal support. Cobain, daughter of late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain, will have to pay Silva $12,000 (£9,200) monthly for the next four months until their divorce is settled.

Cobain, 24, and Silva, 31, tied the knot in August 2014 but she filed for divorce from the musician in March 2016 after less than two years of marriage. According to TMZ, a judge signed an agreement stating that Cobain will pay the $48,000 spousal support in addition to $15,000 to cover Silva's legal fees.

The Los Angeles judge has also ordered the former couple to attend mediation over the next four months in an attempt to diffuse the situation. It is said that Silva left Cobain's home around 10 days prior to the judge's decision.

The temporary ruling is a loss for Cobain as she had reportedly attempted to block Silva from having access to the estimated $450m fortune inherited from her father's estate following his death in April 1994.

In the initial court filings, lawyers on behalf of Cobain stated: "Petitioner requests that all gifts, inheritance, bequests and all other pre-marital assets, and all of her post-separation earnings, and acquisitions, as well as her clothing, jewellery and personal effects, be confirmed and/or awarded to her as her separate property plus all credits, offsets and reimbursements to which she is entitled."

Although Cobain filed the divorce papers in March, the couple's official separation date is listed as 24 February. At the time of their marriage, Cobain's relationship with her mother Courtney Love was said to be strained. A source claimed Cobain did not invite her mother to the wedding ceremony, with the insider revealing: "Courtney loves Isaiah, but was devastated to learn that Frances had gotten married without her knowing.

"Courtney really likes Isaiah and is very happy for Frances. Courtney is sad she wasn't at the wedding... This has not caused a rift between mom and daughter. Courtney was sad, but she's cool and Isaiah is a great son-in-law."

It is reported that Cobain inherited her father's staggering fortune after turning 18 in 2010.
