Paris Saint Germain are to bid for David Luiz this summer as clubs begin to jostle for the sought-after Brazilian centre-back.

As well as the French champions, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are both keeping tabs on Luiz's situation at Stamford Bridge, with Barca reportedly mulling over a £29 million bid.

However, pundits are estimating that Chelsea are likely to want to sell Luiz for around £35 million which may prove a stumbling block for Barcelona who are adverse to paying such a high fee for a defender.

Former Chelsea defender Alex is also in contract talks with the Paris club but manager Laurent Blanc reportedly wants to pair the eccentric Luiz with his national teammate Thiago Silva.

Luiz started in just thirteen of Chelsea's 26 Premier League games this season and may be tempted by a move to the French or Spanish champions after the arrival of Kurt Zouma from St Etienne and Nemanja Matic from Benfica at Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.
