The cast of Friends
Friends stars Courteney Cox (third left) and Matthew Perry (third right) are to reunite on an episode of Perry's new show.

Friends stars Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry are preparing to reunite on screen for the first time in eight years.

The duo, who played Monica Geller and Chandler Bing on the US hit sitcom, will appear together in an upcoming episode of Perry's new show, Go on.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cox will make a guest appearance in an episode due to air in April.

In a bid to reignite the Monica-Chandler chemistry Cox will play a potential love interest to Perry's character Ryan King, a radio presenter struggling to deal with the death of his wife.

Go On premiered in September and a full season of 22 episodes has been ordered.

Although Cox and Perry have not appeared on the small screen since Friends ended in 2004, other members of the cast have enjoyed mini-reunions.

David Schwimmer, who played Ross, and Coz both guest starred on Lisa Kudrow's comedy series Web Therapy.

Cox also persuaded Jenifer Aniston, who played Rachel to guest star on her drama series Dirt.

Cox currently plays single mother Jules Cobb in Cougar Town. The sitcom, which is in its fourth season, airs in the UK on Sky Living.
