Game of Thrones Season 4 will end this Sunday while fans are still reeling from the shock of unbelievable twists, featuring brutal deaths and rape scenes.

IBTimes UK highlights the season's unforgettable moments that left a big scar on the audience's heart and mind.

The Purple Wedding

The opulent wedding between Cersei's evil boy Joffery and Margaery ended on a brutal note. No doubt fans loved to watch the abusive king die but it was undeniably the most shocking moment.

Amid ceremony and festivities and extreme verbal abuse of Tyrion Lannister, the king suddenly collapsed on ground with bleeding nostrils and bulging veins.

Incestuous Rape of Cersei by Jaime

What can be more gruesome than getting raped beside a son's corpse when the rape is executed by none other than the brother himself.

Exactly that happened in HBO's blockbuster series when Cersei was brutally raped by her twin brother and baby's father Jaime.

In the third episode 'Breaker of Chains', a grieving Cersei was seeking comfort from lover Jaime, but took the opportunity to overpower her before raping over their dead son Joffrey's dead body. The scene received severe backlash from viewers for glorifying rape on television.

Tyrion Lannister Sentenced to Death for Joffrey's Murder

GRR Martin's novel adaptation knows how to tease audience and increase ratings. The more pain to Tyrion, the more is GOT ratings.

"I did not do it. I did not kill Joffrey, but I wish that I had. Watching your vicious bastard die gave me more relief than a thousand lying whores!"

This is what Tyrion Lannister said during his trial. The dwarf brother of Cersei and Jaime was falsely implicated for the death of King Joffrey.

While his fate might get revealed during the finale, he will always remain as the most loved character from the smash hit series.

Little finger's Deadly Schemes Revealed

There may not be any murder or rape in this scene but this episode definitely decided who the actual player is.

In the 'First of His Name' episode, Lord Petyr Baelish aka Littlefinger emerges as the real and evil planner when Lysa Arryn of Eyrie reveals it all.

Sansa Stark, on the other hand, revealed that it was Lord Baelish who poisoned Joffrey, not Tyrion.

Little finger's cruel plan of creating rift between the Lannisters and the Starks led to Lord Ned Stark's brutal beheading, destruction of the Westeros, the grim battle between the Five Kings and the recent assassination of King Joffrey.

Prince Oberyn Martell's Head Crushing Death

It has been two weeks since the episode was telecasted but fans are still in distress. His tragic death at the hand of the Mountain was more than brutal.

Episode 8 titled The Mountain and the Viper has left fans reeling in shock after the violent fight between Red Viper aka Prince Oberyn and Gregor Clegan aka the Mountain.

The Mountain killed the Red Viper by gouging his eyes and then exploding his head before the massive crowd.

The tragic death of Oberyn has also decided the sad fate of Tyrion, who is now on death row.

Titled 'The Children', the tenth and final episode of Game of Thrones Season 4 will be aired next week on HBO and it promises to be the show's 'best episode ever.'
