After five years of playing Daenerys Targaryen in Games Of Thrones, Emilia Clarke has racked up her fair share of nude scenes. But while some people may consider using a body double for the scenes, the English actress has revealed that she feels a sense of empowerment when she sees her naked bottom on the small screen.
Speaking to Time Out magazine, the 29-year-old star who was named Esquire magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive for 2015, said: "It's awesome. I don't have a body double: that's the size of my bottom and we've all seen it. I'm like, 'F**k yeah, that's my arse!"
While she fully embraced stripping off for the show, the novelty started to wear off when she was inundated with offers for film roles that required her in her birthday suit.
Recalling how she rejected an offer to play the lead role in erotic film Fifty Shades of Grey, she said: "For better or worse, people loved to talk about me being naked. That's the one thing that grinds my gears. It only happened in 'Game of Thrones' a couple of times because it was part of the plot. I don't walk around naked all of the time.
"I definitely wouldn't say I won't do nudity again because there's loads in life. Being naked is not something that defines me but at that point it was the only question that people asked."
Clarke's comments come hot on the heels of her push for more penises on TV. Back in April actress, also known as the Mother of Dragons on the Emmy-winning show lent her voice to the "free the penis" movement and revealed that she wants to see more men naked on our TV screens.
"I feel like there's a little bit of inequality with the amount of nudity that happens with women," she said during an appearance on James Corden's Late Late Show. "This woman in particular, and that happens with the other guys. I just think that should be even." Her comments were applauded by fellows guests, Broad City stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer.
