German Grand Prix 2016: Where to watch qualifying live and practice review

Nico Rosberg topped the time sheets in both the practice sessions at the Hockenheim circuit on Friday with Lewis Hamilton close to four tenths behind his teammate. The Mercedes team do look dominant but the top six cars were covered by a second in FP2.

The true speed, however, will be revealed only on Saturday, when they do the qualifying simulations on FP3. Unlike Hungary, the weather held out and it is likely to remain dry the entire weekend at the Hockenheim circuit.

Jenson Button was taken to hospital after he complained of an irritation in his eye, following the end of FP2. It was confirmed that there was a foreign object that was identified and removed, but he is clear to race on Saturday.

Behind the Silver Arrows team, Red Bull Racing and Ferrari look evenly matched and look to be on for a battle yet again like the previous race in Hungary, when the former got the better of the Italian team in qualifying and the race.

Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo are also having a battle of their own, with the young pretender taking the race to his more accomplished teammate.

Force India and McLaren were the next best teams behind the top three, with Nico Hulkenberg, Button, Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso rounding out the top ten.

The third free practice session begins on Saturday (23 July) at 10am BST, while the qualifying session starts at 1pm BST. Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports F1 HD will provide live coverage of both events in the UK.
