Customers looking for a budget flight on Ryanair will be surprised to find the website and mobile app shut down as of 7pm tonight (19 June) and all online check-in services suspended.

The airline's online services will be closed for 10 hours until 5am on 20 June for a system upgrade.

A spokeswoman for Ryanair told IBTimes UK the site would be down for background maintenance and changes to the airline's reservation system, but that there would be no serious changes to Ryanair's main website.

The budget airline has asked all its customers travelling on 19 and 20 June to check-in online for their flight on or before 18 June, before the web closure takes place.

New bookings or changes to existing flights will not be possible during this web closure, Ryanair has said.

Ryanair's Robin Kiely said: "We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this upgrade, which will further improve Ryanair.com, Europe's largest travel website."
