Hollywood stars Charlize Theron, Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Lawrence attended the 24th annual Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles on Saturday 20 April.

The awards, which "recognise and honour media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives," were hosted by actress Drew Barrymore.

Jennifer Lawrence looked gorgeous in a black David Koma dress and combined it with Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, David Webb jewellery, and a Roger Vivier bag. The 22-year-old Oscar-winner displayed her new short and wavy hair on the red carpet too. Charlize Theron opted for a Jason Wu jumpsuit and teamed it with Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery. Kirsten Dunst kept it simple in an Emilio Pucci dress. Elle Fanning looked cute in a Lanvin gown. The 14-year-old actress accessorised her look with a Jennifer Behr headband and Neil Lane jewels.

At the ceremony, Harvey Weinstein and Lawrence presented the first Advocate for Change award to former US President Bill Clinton.

"I want to keep working on this until not only DOMA [The Defence of Marriage Act] is no longer the law of the land, but until all people, no matter where they live, can marry the people they love," Clinton said, "I believe you will win the DOMA fight, and I think you will win the Constitutional right to marry. If not tomorrow, then the next day or the next day."

Other celebrities who attended this year award event included Betty White, Chris Evans and his brother Scott, Tobey Maguire and Matt Bomer. There were also performances by Kelly Rowland and Glee's Darren Criss during the show.
