A Ukrainian journalist who gate-crashed Adele's acceptance speech at the 2013 Grammy Awards is facing six months in prison.

Vitalii Sediuk has been charged with entering a performance area and interfering with performers, both of which are misdemeanors in the State of California, TMZ reports.

The 24-year-old is accused of entering the exclusive awards show without a ticket, stealing Adam Levine's VIP seat and walking through the crowd and right up on stage.

In footage posted online, the bold prankster can be seen walking onto the stage and even speaking a few words into the microphone before Jennifer Lopez shoos him away.

He told the stunned crowd: "Such an honour to receive this award, I love you Adele."

Sediuk could potentially be jailed for six months and forced to pay a $1,000 fine for each violation.

This isn't the first time one of Sediuk's stunts has got into hot water.

In May 2012, the Sacha Baron Cohen wannabe was slapped by Will Smith on the red carpet for Men in Black 3 in Moscow, Russia, after attempting to kiss him on the lips during an interview.
