GTA 5 PS4 vs PS3: Next-Gen Graphics Gameplay Comparison

Rockstar Games recently announced the release dates for Next-Gen and PC versions of GTA 5. Meanwhile the internet is abuzz discussing a comparison of the next-gen graphics against the current-gen console versions, based on recently released screenshots and the official trailer for GTA 5.

As renowned Youtuber DomisLive (aka Dom) points out, avid GTA 5 gamers have taken to Reddit to debate the impact of next-gen graphics on the game, based on side-by-side comparison of PS4 vs PS3 gameplay screenshots for GTA 5.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the PS4 version on the left clearly shows greater draw distances, higher display resolution, new foliage system, with vibrant colours and enhanced image clarity, as well as weather effects in greater detail.

One can easily identify finer details such as the cloud, smoke and fog in the PS4 version on the left, while the PS3 version (on the right) clearly lacks these enhancements in the game world.

To put it in simple terms, the prospective next-gen GTA 5 gamers are in for a special treat as the re-mastered edition will be a switch over from the current-gen's standard definition (SD) to full HD resolution (1080p), which is bound to deliver appealing eye-candy visuals and engrossing gameplay experience with a more realistic game world ambience.

The second (PS3 above) and third screenshot (PS4 below) from the video reveals a cutscene from the game, wherein you can clearly distinguish the finer details inside the Lifeinvader building as you compare the PS4 and PS3 versions of GTA 5.

At this moment, it is not yet clear if the leaked images pertaining to GTA 5 next-gen and current-gen are part of the final release or if they are the alpha or beta versions of the game under development.
