The countdown to Halloween has started. While the kids are looking forward to dressing up and eating ridiculous amounts of sweets, it is also a perfect opportunity for a bit of family bonding.

Yes - you heard right. This Halloween the whole family can be scared senseless at a whole host of frightfully fun events across the UK.

Whether you want to take part in a spooky storytelling on the London Eye or lurk around the Wetland Centre after dark, everyone can get into the spirit this year.

Treat the kids to a storytelling experience like no other on board the London Eye.

What: Halloween Festival

Now in its seventh year, the festival offers plenty of eerie activities for children and adults, including a mass zombie walk, magic lessons for budding witches and wizards, and plenty of ghost stories.

What: Spooky Halloween at London Wetland Centre

For family activities such as storytelling, Wolf Tales Halloween puppet shows, nature crafts and pond dipping in the dark.

What: Sefton Park fancy dress party

Children take centrestage at fancy dress party with a disco, scary stories, a best costume competition and a host of other spooky themed events.

What: Halloween Spooktacular

Described as the UK's top Halloween family attraction, Tulleys Farm Halloween Spooktacular will leave the whole family quaking in their boots. Enter the Creepy Cottage and board the Horrid Hayride - at your own risk.
