Hello songstress Adele has reportedly wed her boyfriend of five years, Simon Konecki.

The 28-year-old set tongues wagging after she was spotted wearing a band on her ring finger while out shopping in Beverley Hills on Wednesday (December 28).

It comes after reports that Adele and 42-year-old charity boss Konecki had been planning to tie the knot over the festive period after getting engaged in October.

"The plan is to marry in Los Angeles. It's looking like it will be Christmas, but they want to keep details under wraps," a source told The Mirror.

"Adele is not even wearing her engagement ring. They're a private couple and only want their nearest and dearest there."

The couple were introduced to each other by mutual friend Ed Sheeran.

They share a four-year-old son, Angelo, together.

This is not the first time that the status of Adele and Konecki's relationship has been called into question.

Last year Adele used a sold out concert at the Xcel Center in Minnesota to shoot down ring watchers, telling the crowd: "I might as well be married, but I'm not.

"I would tell you if I did."

The Brit-born diva previously told Rolling Stone magazine that the couple never felt the need to make their relationship official.

She said: "We just haven't felt the need to get married. We've got a kid together. I feel like that's a big enough commitment."

Adele also poured cold water on claims they may soon be adding to their family, revealing that she is not interested in giving her son a little brother or sister.

She explained: "I don't think I can have another child. I mean, I can. But I don't think I want two."

Marrying long-term partner Konecki would top off a fantastic year for Adele.

2016 has seen her win numerous accolades for her music including four BRIT Awards and five Billboard Music Awards.

She has also embarked on a massive sold out tour to support latest album, 25, and played a heavily talked about headlining set at Glastonbury.
