Hawaii Five-0 returns with its sixth season on Friday 25 September at 9pm EST on the CBS Network and in the premiere episode fans would get to the team scanning the centuries-old Oahu Palace. Episode 1 is titled Mai ho'oni i ka wai lana mâlie (Do Not Disturb the Water That Is Tranquil), which will pick up a few hours after Kono and Adam's wedding.
The official synopsis reads as follows:
A murder leads Five-0 to investigate a centuries-old Oahu palace raid involving pirates, buried treasure and a killer who is using a stolen painting as a map. Also, the morning after their wedding, Kono and Adam are threatened and tortured by Gabriel, and Danny shows concern for McGarrett regarding Catherine's return to the island, on the sixth season premiere of Hawaii Five-0.
According to showrunner Peter Lenkov, season 6 will kick off with a "huge action-adventure tale" where an investigation leads the Five-0 to an ancient legend. "It's a modern-day pirate treasure hunt with flashbacks to help tell the origin of it all."
Lenkov confirmed that Kono and Adam "did take the plunge" in an interview with TVGuide. "The premiere picks up maybe an hour or two after last year's finale. We'll see [Adam and Kono] be introduced as husband and wife."
Fans will also get to see the entire Ohana team let loose "...on the dance floor to tunes of We Are Family. At least, that's the plan," the showrunner said.
Speaking of Gabriel, Lenkov teased "the villain's real agenda is not personal".
He told TVLine, "Wo Fat was a villain that we had for years, but his agenda was very personal. For Gabriel, he's more of a sociopath. He's a bad guy because he's a bad guy. I don't think you're going to find out, at least for a while, what his real agenda is, but it's definitely not personal."
