The north-eastern United States is experiencing heavy snowfall, with winter storms dumping nearly 21 inches of snow in parts of Massachusetts and upstate New York. Over 2,000 flights in the United States were cancelled on Thursday, with on Friday another 1,000 flights also cancelled. The snowstorm is alikely to bring the temperature at many areas to record low, with sub-freezing temperatures expected as far south as the Florida panhandle. As the snow storm is predicted to batter the Northeast until the weekend with bitter cold and strong winds, the National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning.
