It looks like Vin Diesel could soon be venturing into the world of music if this clip is anything to go by.

The Fast and Furious star won over legions of new fans when he recently belted out an impressive cover of Sam Smith's Stay with Me.

The 47-year-old Hollywood actor broke into song during an interview with Capital FM to promote his new film, Guardians of the Galaxy.

He voices Groot in the movie, which hits cinemas on 1 August.

Sporting dark shades and a black t-shirt, Diesel hit the high notes and mustered up as much passion as he could for the impromptu performance.

Within hours the clip has garnered almost 4000 hits on YouTube.

"Still sexy hahah . If he have to sing for me everyday like this ... I WONT MIND HAHA" one impressed viewer said.

Another wrote: "Love this guy can sing!"

A third added: "Love his cover! Live on Vin , I'll always be a fan. You and Paul are the reason in a car enthusiast now. Ever since the first fast and the furious."

This is not the first time Diesel has showed off his vocal prowess.

In 2013, he recorded a video of himself singing Rihanna's hit Stay for his girlfriend, Paloma Jimenez in lieu of a Valentine's Day card. His romantic gesture has since been watched by millions of fans.

"People say 'I didn't know you were a Rihanna fan?' "he previously said of the now cherished clip. "How could you not be a fan of her voice, her gift."
