Honduras will take on Algeria in a Group D clash of the Rio 2016 Olympics men's football match scheduled at the Olympic Stadium on Thursday (4 August). It will be the first match for the both sides and the second in this summer's Olympics in Brazil.

Algeria are participating in the men's football event for the first time and will be hoping to make an impressive run during their time in South America. Swiss manager Pierre-Andre Schurmann will be managing the Foxes in the Rio Olympics and he will be hoping to start the event on a brighter note.

Honduras, on the other hand sealed a berth in the Rio 2016 Olympics after making it to the final of the Concacaf Olympic Qualifying tournament, only losing to Mexico. Despite the defeat, they have made it to Rio and it is their second consecutive appearance in the Olympics.
