How I Met Your Mother

Just when How I Met Your Mother fans were in tears after the series Finale, CBS offered some tissues by premiering another primetime sitcom Friends With Better Lives.

The latest contemporary sitcom features six friends along with their relationships and awkward sexual encounters.

But fans of HIMYM may take time to relate themselves to the characters of the latest show, especially those who still think Ted Mosby is the perfect example of true love.

The pilot episode tells us that the recently divorced Will (James Van Der Beek) is the latest bachelor doctor in town. But can Will match up to the sombreness of Ted Mosby (though his character looks like a cocktail of Ted and Barney)?

Will's friends Bobby and Andi (a depressed version of Lily and Marshall) are the much-in-love couple having a tough time dealing with their toddler and siblings, but who keep talking about sex all the time.

Other characters of the sitcom include flirtatious blonde Jules (Brooklyn Decker) who has just got engaged to Lowell (Rick Donald), and the ill-tempered Kate (Zoe Lister-Jones).

The pilot episode of the show had a plethora of sex-jokes, and like HIMYM, had flashbacks and forwards. Whatever the real objective of the show, it isn't exactly filling up the hollow created by How I Met Your Mother, for now.

The show is created by Friends alum James Burrows and the plot is based on a group of friends who are in different stages of life, who all think the other has a much better life than them.

As every sitcom takes its own time to strike a chord with the viewers, we are hoping HIMYM mourners will let Friends With Better Lives fill their vacant hearts.
