Even though Tim McDonough, Qualcomm's vice president of marketing, has dismissed reports about the Snapdragon 810 overheating, a range of flagships such as Xperia Z3+ and LG G Flex 2 are reported to be experiencing the problem. McDonough was quoted as saying: "The rumours are rubbish; there was not an overheating problem with the Snapdragon 810 in commercial device."

The list of devices reportedly affected by the overheating issue includes HTC's 2015 flagship One M9. There is workaround to clock down the CPU speed of the Snapdragon 810, but it will take a toll on the performance of the phone. If you are looking for methods to deal with the overheating issue of a phone, in particular, the One M9, here is some good news.

Folks at XDA have created a mod — enhanced thermal configuration — to tweak the thermal settings of the One M9. With this file running in the One M9, the phone remains unthrottled. The developer warns users that the installation would be an individual responsibility. Check out the following steps to flash the enhanced thermal configuration mod on the One M9.
