HTC One M9
HTC One M9 hits US stores earlier than expected EE

HTC's high-end smartphone, the One M9, which was launched at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015), will be available in the US earlier than expected.

According to a PhoneArena report that quotes an official webcast held by Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC's operations in the US, HTC One M9 will be released across the country on 10 April.

Jason Mackenzie also stated that prospective buyers of the HTC One M9 will find unlocked versions of the smartphone available in retail stores across the US, but the carrier-specific editions are expected to be available as per individual timelines set by respective wireless service providers.

At this point in time, it is interesting to note that Samsung will also launch its latest flagship, the Galaxy S6, across all major carriers on 11 April, with a global release also expected to take place in April.

The above situation should make for an interesting battle between Samsung and HTC, as the latter's One M9 is touted to be the answer to Samsung's Galaxy S6 high-end smartphone.

HTC One M9's overheating issue rumour addressed

The rumoured overheating issue that plagued HTC One M9 (overheating issues were even reported during benchmark tests) is said to have been addressed by the Taiwan-based company, as per the PhoneArena report.

Benchmark tests that surfaced earlier indicated that the HTC One M9 acquiring surface temperatures as much as 55.4C, more than that of other high-end devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, LG G3, Apple iPhone 6 Plus and HTC's own One M8.

The overheating issue was apparently caused by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor dissipating a comparatively greater amount of heat.

HTC's Jason Mackenzie said that he was confident about the One M9 quality and also confirmed that he was sure that a quality smartphone was being released by the company.
