HTC One Red
HTC One Red UK debut set for July .

HTC, the Taiwanese smartphone giant, recently launched the Glamour Red variant of its flagship smartphone, the HTC One, which was earlier launched in silver and black variants. The new variant of the smartphone is expected to go on sale in Europe starting July with the UK being the first country to get it.

HTC fans in the US will be the first to receive the Google Edition of HTC One in July. To keep its UK fans happy, HTC has reportedly announced its plans to introduce the Glamour Red variant of HTC One exclusively for the UK via Phones 4U in mid-July.

As Android Geeks reports, the British retailer Phones 4U has confirmed that the Red HTC One will be available in the UK starting at £33 per month contract.

The HTC One comes with a power-packed hardware and aptly justifies its title as the company's flagship device. It features a 4.7in Super LCD3 display running at a native resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with Gorilla Glass 2 protection.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm chipset based quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor with four Krait 300 cores clocked at 1.7GHz, while graphics processing is handled by Adreno 320 GPU. The handset ships with 2GB of RAM, 32 or 64 GB internal storage (with no microSD card support) and a non-removable Li-Po 2300 mAh battery.

Weighing 143 grams, the phone measures just 9.3mm thick and features all the standard connectivity options including 4G/LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, NFC, infrared port, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with GLONASS support.

Unlike other flagship smartphones in the Android market (such as Sony Xperia Z, Samsung Galaxy S4 and LG Optimus G Pro) which ship with 13 megapixel rear cameras, the HTC One sports a down-scaled 4 megapixel sensor with UltraPixel technology.

The HTC One camera also features autofocus, LED flash, simultaneous HD and video recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, optical image stabilisation and support for full HD video recording via rear as well as 2.1 megapixel front-facing-camera.

The HTC One runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box, and comes customised with the company's proprietary Sense user-interface (UI).

Given the powerful hardware specifications of the device, the Red variant of HTC One could see a similar price tag as its silver and black variants. The 32GB UK SIM free silver variant is priced at £489.95 on Amazon, while the same model is available at Expansys for £499.99.
