'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting

Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder has long been a fan-favourite choice for the role of Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey movie. And now, the 33-year-old actor has talked about the character's potential and hinted that he is keen to take up the role.

During an appearance on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live, Somerhalder said: "There are so many young boys in Hollywood up for this role.

"I think they have a very big job a head of them casting this role. I can't say anything other than it's a very interesting story, and whoever plays that role is going to have a lot of fun [come] rehearsal time."

Somerhalder who is rumoured to be on the verge of a split with his Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev was asked if he was single, to which he responded, "I would not say that. That's not the case."

Meanwhile, he had recently revealed that there is a new love in his life - the Grumpy Cat.

The feline, whose full name is Tardar Sauce, went viral on the internet after pictures of her were uploaded onto the social news website Reddit.com. People began to notice the stern appearance of the cat and started attaching captions to the pictures.

"That's my new love and she is a sweetie pie with beautiful eyes, I might add," he said, adding, "I just had a photo taken of me with Grumpy Cat. There was a line of people lined up around the block to take pictures of this cat and she was just chilling.

"I don't know if she was drunk or maybe they gave her some ketamine or something but she was, she was very peaced out. She's sweet as pumpkin pie. Grumpy Cat, I miss you... Come back home to daddy."
