Overview

India start the new ODI series against their neighbours after the West Indies pulled out of their tour of the subcontinent after the fourth ODI last month due to a conflict between the West Indies Cricket Board and the West Indies Players Association.

As the West Windies confirmed their withdrawal, India replaced the remaining One ODI, T20 and three-match Test series with a five-match ODI series against the Lankans.

M S Dhoni's men lost the opening match against the West Indies before bouncing back to level the series in the second match. The third match was called off due to bad weather without a single bowl being bowled.

In the fourth ODI, India registered a comfortable victory. Virat Kohli, who is leading the Indian XI as Dhoni has taken a break, would be hoping his men could replicate the form shown in the last match against West Indies when they take on Sri Lanka on Sunday.
