All those frenzied crowds who left Mumbai's Wankhade stadium and many millions in India and the world over who cast eyes away from their television sets in the morning after MS Dhoni elected to field could be ruing their decision.

For, Sachin Tendulkar is on the cusp of walking in to bat in last but one of his glorious innings, an emotional moment for Indians that ends an era in cricket.

Tendulkar's final test in front of his home crowd at Wankhede Stadium has seen the West Indies suffer a quick collapse as the visitors were bowled out for 182 before the end of the second session of the first day in Mumbai.

India ended the day's play with 157 for the loss of two wickets with the Master Blaster remained unbeaten at 38 while Pujara made 34.

Pragyan Ojha was the star among the Indian bowlers as the left-arm spinner bagged five wickets while his spin partner Ravichandran Ashwin picked up three. Kieran Powell and Darren Bravo put on 61 run partnership for the first wicket while the rest of the visitors batsmen failed to fire.

Meanwhile, India have managed a great start with the openers Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay giving a solid start to the hosts. The left-handed batsman was dismissed for 33 after giving a simple catch to Shivnarine Chanderpaul in the square leg from Shane Shillingford's bowling.
