Overview

India come into this game after registering a 2-0 Test series victory over the West Indies earlier this month. The series saw the world champions' batting legend Sachin Tendulkar play his penultimate and the final international game of his cricketing career.

M S Dhoni and his men were successful in winning both the test matches at Eden Gardens and Wankhede as both Test matches finished before the end of the third day's play. India won two matches after playing only an innings.

The West Indies would be looking to bounce back during the ODI's against the Indians in front of their home crowd. A victory for the visitors in the first match of the three-match ODI series would be a psychological boost and will be their first win of their tour to the subcontinent.

India won the seven-match ODI series against Australia before entering into the 50 over format of the game. The hosts would be looking to repeat the same when they take on West Indies on Thursday.
