British actress and UN Women Global Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson will host a special event in London in occasion of International Women's Day, which falls on 8 March.

During the event, called HeForShe, Watson will address gender inequality issues and further explain the HeForShe campaign she launched at the 2015 World Economic Forum to promote women's empowerment.

The aim of the campaign is to engage men and boys in removing the social and cultural barriers that prevent women and girls' full participation in society.

Watson's fans have the chance to attend the event by submitting a story on how they contributed to advancing gender equality, accompanied by one or two photos or a short video.

UN Women will then select the individuals who will become audience members.

Watson posted a video on Facebook announcing the HeForShe event in London.

"Thank you so much for all your support and participation so far. It's been an absolutely amazing journey for me," she said in the video.

I hope you’ll join me on Sunday 8th of March at 1PM NYC/5PM London-time for a conversation about He For She and Gender Equality, live on Facebook. If you’re in London and would like to be there in person, tell me how you are making a personal impact to advance gender equality. Please submit your story, here: http://goo.gl/forms/dRzVjsdNSR, by 12PM London-time on Wednesday 4th of March and you could be selected to attend this special event as an audience member! Em x
