iOS 7.1/7.1.1 Jailbreak Status: Pod2g Confirms Work in Progress

Avid fans of iOS jailbreaking have been eagerly anticipating the release of iOS 7.1/7.1.1 jailbreak, as the advent of iOS 7.1 update killed all existing exploits used in evasi0n7 jailbreak and thereby rendering it useless.

Those who have already updated their devices to iOS 7.1 can no longer enjoy the privilege of installing jailbreak tweaks and apps, as they lose jailbreak status soon after installing this update.

Furthermore, Apple has stopped signing firmware older than iOS 7.0 as it intends to withdraw all technical support for jailbroken iOS devices. As a result, you will no longer be able to downgrade your device from iOS 7.1 to iOS 7 or earlier iOS 6 firmware builds.

With Apple's iOS 8 release imminent and Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) just around the corner, veteran jailbreak developers and evad3rs Dream Team have already hinted at preserving their existing exploits for the next major iOS release.

Veteran iOS hacker and pioneer of evad3rs team, pod2g, recently shared his views about the impending jailbreak release for iOS 7.1while talking in an interview with iDownloadBlog at Worldwide Jailbreak Conference (WWJC).

Here is what the veteran hacker, Pod2g, had to say about the impending iOS 7.1 jailbreak release:

Not today, and I don't know about the future. I've started to look at it, and started to find some stuff. I think that something's possible. It depends on when it happens—I mean if we have a jailbreak in one month, for sure we will release it. If it happens in 3 months, we might have to wait for iOS 8. But I'm definitely on it, definitely trying to find something.

Discerning jailbreak users and members of the jailbreak community are strongly advised to beware of fraudulent claims and scams involving the highly-anticipated iOS 7.1 jailbreak.

Unsuspecting jailbreak users could be fooled into downloading fake jailbreak tools from fraudulent websites with repackaged evasi0n7 files that may even contain malware and other harmful content such as backdoors and Trojans.

Do you think there will ever be an iOS 7.1 jailbreak or will evad3rs play safe and skip the jailbreak altogether to preserve exploits for the next major iOS release or iOS 8?
