Images released by Israeli security services appear to show a bomb factory in a home in the West Bank Israeli Security Agency

Twenty-five members of a Hamas cell have been arrested in the West Bank over an alleged suicide bomb plot using homemade explosives.

Authorities in Israel have released pictures of six of the men and their names alongside images which appear to show a home bomb-making operation in a partially abandoned building. The pictures show large quantities of industrial chemicals, scales and two large glass flasks.

The Jerusalem Post reported that the Israeli Defence Force and police swooped on the building in the Abu Dis area of the West Bank following intelligence received by Shin Bet, Israel's domestic intelligence service.

The cell had reportedly been instructed to carry out suicide attacks against Israeli targets. Most of those arrested were students at al-Quds University at its Abu dis campus.

The anti-terror raid follows unrest in the West Bank during which nine Palestinian students were injured after live rounds were fired during clashes outside the campus of Palestine Technical University-Kadoorie. A paramedic was also hit by a bullet while attending to the students.
