Olivia Palermo is preparing to walk down the aisle after accepting her long-term boyfriend Johannes Huebl's marriage proposal.

The American designer and It Girl said "yes" after the German-born model popped the question on New Year's eve in St. Bart's.

Huebl, 27, shared the happy news on Instagram by posting a video of his wife-to-be walking through the sun-soaked island, before twirling around a palm tree to reveal her engagement ring.

"Happy New Year to everybody and this is how we celebrate it: OP said Y E S (sic)," he captioned the clip.

The stunning couple were quickly inundated with congratulatory messages.

"OMG! Congrats! You are a wonderful couple and I'm sure you will be very happy Best wishes from Spain," one fan said.

Another wrote: "Fantastic! I can organize your wedding? I adore you!"

The fashionable pair have been dating since 2008 after meeting through mutual friends.

Huebl previously revealed that they had an "old romantic" approach to their relationship.

"I think that I'm constantly learning, and we're both eager to learn about not only each other, but our interests," he said.

"I think we have a very conservative, old romantic, private approach to our love."
