Where to watch live

Kick-off is at 7:45pm BST. Live coverage is on ITV 1 and UTV. Radio commentary of the game will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Overview

Italy and England come into this midweek friendly tie after the Euro 2016 qualifiers last week. The 2006 World Champions had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Bulgaria, while the Three Lions registered a 4-0 victory over Lithuania.

Yordan Minev's own goal in the fourth minute gave Antonio Conte's side an early lead and that was cancelled by Ivelin Popov's goal just seven minutes later. Bulgaria took the lead in the 17th minute, courtesy of a Iliyan Mitsanski goal. Eder's strike in the final quarter of the game helped Italy avoid a defeat in their last clash.

Meanwhile, England sealed a comfortable victory at Wembley against Lithuania. Tottenham Hotspur in-form striker Harry Kane made the headlines as he was making his senior debut and scoring his first goal for the country just 79 seconds after coming on to the field.

Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Kane will start, while Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will lead England against Italy on Tuesday.

What managers say

Antonio Conte: "These things [death threats] I won't forget because they hurt me. Having said that, I only ask to do what I have always done. I always worked hard in my life, sometimes delivering good results, sometimes less, but I always worked hard."

Roy Hodgson: "We've got a tougher test ahead of us against Italy and we will be playing that game with players we wouldn't normally rely upon. Italy and Ireland [whom England face in June] will be, to some extent, experimental and a chance [for players] to break in to what we think is our best XI."
