Liam Payne can't wait for Christmas to arrive. The former One Direction star is so eager that he is already planning how he wants to celebrate the holiday season this year.

Speaking on the red carpet at the 2017 MTV EMAs, the Strip That Down singer said that he has been making arrangements in anticipation of the upcoming holidays, which will see the entire family join in to celebrate the festivities.

"It's going to be amazing," the pop singer was quoted as saying by E! News. "We've been arranging getting the stockings and the names on them and all that cute stuff."

"All my family are coming over," Payne continued. "We'll have a big Christmas dinner."

This will be the first-ever Christmas Payne and his partner Cheryl Tweedy will be celebrating with their son Bear, who the couple welcomed this March.

Payne recently gushed about his nine-month-old baby boy. He said his focus in life has completely changed since becoming a father for the first time, with him finding it difficult to leave his son at home while he goes to work.

"Having a steady base at home is the best thing ever and Bear is such a lovely, happy, bubbly child. Chilled parents, chilled baby," Payne told The Sun. "It's important for me and Cheryl to have our diaries in tune with each other so we can make sure our family time is prioritised."

"We're doing little two-week stints away from each other but it was the toughest thing leaving Bear this time," he continued. "He's a proper little character now, bless him, and he's a mini-me."

Payne and Cheryl have been in a relationship for the past 18 months. He was recently asked when he might tie the knot with his partner, who he has been calling his "missus".

"I don't know if I'm the wedding-type of guy," he told Daily Star. "Weddings feel a bit weird to me. I don't know. Who knows? We'll see."
