Overview

Currently placed third on the table with five points from four games, Jamaica Tallawahs come into this game on the back of a rained out encounter against Barbados Tridents on 11 July.

The Tallawahs were perhaps unlucky that the game was rained out as they had raced to 116 for the loss of two wickets in just 10 overs. Skipper Chris Gayle, who has been in brilliant form in the tournament, was at the crease with 47 runs from 20 balls and would regard it as a missed opportunity to score his second hundred in the 2016 edition of CPL.

Tallawahs have been dependent on their batsman to win them matches, with their bowlers misfiring so far. Dale Steyn in particular has been a disappointment, struggling to contain the flow of runs. The South African pacer has taken just two wickets in four games with an economy rate of 9.20.

The league leaders at the halfway stage, Guyana Amazon Warriors have won five of their six games, losing just one game so far. Warriors come into this clash on the back of an eight-wicket win against St Lucia Zouks in their last game on 12 July.

Their bowlers, in particular spinner Adam Zampa and pace-bowler Sohail Tanvir have performed brilliantly so far and are the top two wicket takers of the tournament with 13 and 12 wickets respectively. What has also been impressive is the way skipper Martin Guptill has handled them, setting attacking fields in search of wickets.

Guptill, Chris Lynn and Jason Mohammad have ensured that their bowlers' contributions don't go to a waste, chipping in with runs at crucial moments to make Guyana arguably the team to beat. With no injury concerns at the moment, the Warriors are expected to go in with the same eleven that took the field in their last game on Tuesday.
