Janet Devlin, the sassy 16-year-old from Northern Ireland, stunned the judges at her audition in Birmingham earlier this year. Her rendition of Elton John's "Your Song" highly impressed the judges.

Gary Barlow raved, "We're trying to find someone who will eventually sell records, sell albums around the world ... not just in the UK but everywhere. You are one of those people. That was such a fantastic audition."

"I don't think you have any idea how good you are," said Louis Walsh, while Kelly Rowland, former member of the famous band Destiny's Child, told Janet that she has a beautiful voice.

Janet auditioned for "X Factor" in Liverpool and has been voted through to the next round into the boot camp.

She has finished her GCSEs at Drumragh Integrated College and is due to get her results on Thursday.

She had apparently been writing songs since she was seven. "Because of where I live, I do spend a lot of time in my room on my own, reading, writing and singing," said Janet.

"The reason why I haven't been out singing is my lack of confidence - it's a lot easier to sing in the house than out in front of an audience."

Janet's dad added: "I think people will be impressed in her commitment in everything she does. She's taken part in loads of competitions - she's a winner and she's a trier - and I hope people will see that in her. It would be great for people to get behind her."
