Rumours about Jessa Duggar being pregnant have flown since she married Ben Seewald, but the reality star has finally opened up about the couple's baby plans.

The 19 Kids and Counting star is planning to get pregnant, but wants to adopt a baby as well as having her own children.

"We would love to have children of our own," the Duggar daughter told Celebrate Arkansas Magazine. "And we would also love to adopt. It's something we are constantly praying about."

Inquisitr doubts that the Duggar sibling will adopt a child, as the Duggar family are members of Bill Gothard's controversial Quiverfull movement.

The married conservative evangelical Protestants who make up Quiverfull's membership believe it is the duty of married Christians to have as many children as physically possible, and refuse to use all forms of birth control.

In addition Gothard teaches that Quiverfull followers should not adopt children because the "sins of the parents" are passed on to their biological children.

Duggar, 22, sparked pregnancy speculations when the reality show posted a picture of Jessa with expectant mother Jill and their husbands, with the caption, "New husbands. New babies. New season", to tease season 9 of TLC's popular reality show.

Speculations are high that the newlywed couple are trying for a baby. However, "new babies" might refer to her sister-in-law Anna Duggar, who is pregnant with her fourth child.

19 Kids and Counting season 9 will premiere in a couple of days and will feature Duggar and Seewald's lavish wedding and Jill Duggar's pregnancy.
