Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard are now proud parents of an adorable baby boy who is popularly known as Baby Dilly to the couple's fans.

The couple, who are yet to celebrate their first wedding anniversary, welcomed their son on 6 April and named him Israel David Dillard.

Baby Dilly's birth was announced through the Duggar Family Facebook page. The announcement added that both mother and the new born are healthy and fine.

"We are so thankful for a healthy Mom and baby! Love this sweet baby Israel! We are happy grandparents and we promise more pictures soon!," the Duggar family said while announcing the news.

Fans had been waiting for the news of the birth for some time now as the reality star was almost two weeks overdue.

Pictures of Baby Dilly were shared through the family's official Facebook post saying, "He's here! Israel David Dillard has made his arrival. He was born at 11:49pm on April 6, 2015. He weighed 9 lbs and 10 ounces and measured 23 inches long. We think he's adorable! Mom and baby are both doing wonderful."

The 19 Kids And Counting stars initially hoped for a home birth but things didn't go as planned, and baby Israel was finally born in the hospital.

A source told E Online that Jill needed to be induced and the only way to do that would have been to take her to a hospital. In the video released, the new parents agreed that things did not go as plan.

"Not everything went as expected. so we were reminded of the verse that the Bible talks about when 'Man plans his way but the Lord directs his steps.' We were encouraged by that. He's just a handsome little fella and we'd like everybody to stay tuned to TLC. May 5th they're going to be showing the birth episode as well as things surrounding that."
