Jim Carrey has made the world laugh out loud with his impeccable sense of humour in many movies, but his recent Twitter post has the fans worried about the actor.

The Dumb and Dumber 2 star looks unrecognisable in his recent selfie with a bunny, in which the actor has long hair and a white beard. Alongside the image, the actor wrote, "Happy Easter or Passover or whatever reason you can find to feel warm and fuzzy. =(:•}"

Twitter went on a meltdown following the 55-year-old actor's post, as one worried fan wrote," Jim Carrey looks extremely old and it's sad". Another pointed out, "I had to look at this picture for five minutes before my brain understood that this was Jimm Carry."

Another of the Ace Ventura: Pet Detective actor echoed similar sentiment and wrote, "Me toooo!!! I even read his name and STILL needed 5 minutes to connect the dots".

"I went on google and searched Jim Carrey 2017 I legitimately didn't believe he had a beard hahahaha," said another fan of the actor. Another user wrote, "Jim Carrey should be protected at all costs tbh."

Another fan of Carrey pointed out that the actor looked like late actor Robin Williams, while some noted that he looks like Tom Hanks's character in Cast Away. "I legit thought it was Robin Williams for 10 whole seconds," said a user, as another user wrote.

"WILSOOOOOOONNN" attributing to Hank's popular made up friend in Cast Away movie.

Carrey's this new look can be attributed to his upcoming movie entitled The Bad Batch, wherein he plays Hermit, who is practically unrecognisable in the trailer and is seen trudging through the wasteland, wearing sunglasses made out of cardboard.

The movie was well received by critics at the Venice Film Festival in 2016. It was also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and Fantastic Fest, and is currently set for theatre release in June, 2017.

Alongside Carrey, The Bad Batch features a star cast of Jason Momoa, Keanu Reeves. The plot follows Arlen (Suki Waterhouse) as she is unceremoniously dumped in a Texas wasteland fenced off from civilised society.
