The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst is an upcoming HBO documentary series about an heir to one of the richest real estate families in America, who is later investigated for three mysterious deaths including the disappearance of his wife.

The series is based on true events and explores the story of Durst and his history, which had left the country's police puzzled for decades.

As for the storyline of the series, the New York real estate tycoon, Durst, is under the impression that his life would get jinxed, if he had children with his first wife Kathleen.

The docu-series revolves around the disappearance of Durst's wife, and other mysterious murder cases, including the 2001 incident, where a headless torso was found in Galveston Bay in Texas.

The documentary film's director Andrew Jarecki has conducted interviews with Durst and was left amazed when he learned how Durst thought.

"Somehow I thought I might be a jinx," Durst told Jarecki, during an interview.

The series also explores the bizarre turns by chronicling Durst's attempted contact with Jarecki in 2012, after which he revealed his side of the story, where he speaks of his high profile and controversial life.
