The Confederation of British Industry is battling to convince British businesses and the wider public that it is vital that the UK remains within the European Union.

CBI has launched a report called Our Global Future: The Business Vision for a Reformed EU.

Speaking to IBTimes UK on camera, John Cridland, director-general of the CBI, put forward a passionate argument at the heart of the heavyweight report that CBI has put out which calls for a reformed relationship between Britain and the European Union.

"I think Britain faces a choice. Do we want to be in and influential or out and have no influence? In a small world, much more interconnected than it has ever been before, individual countries cannot solve the big problems of the day. Living standards, climate change except by working together. So we could survive outside the European Union but our voice would be smaller and our wallets would be thinner," he said.

According to CBI, they are the UK's leading business organisation and speak for some 240,000 businesses that together employ around a third of the private sector workforce. They have representation in Brussels, Washington, Beijing and Delhi.
