Miralem Pjanic is reportedly a transfer target of new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho. The Roma midfielder is said to have been identified by the outspoken coach as the man to cure United's creative problems.

Pjanic, 26, is widely considered to be one of the best midfielders in European football and United are keen to strike a deal with the Serie A club, amid reports of a £30m ($43.5m) transfer fee. Pjanic – who is also a reported target of Barcelona – can play in the centre of the midfield or as a deep-lying playmaker and is seen as an ideal fit by Mourinho, according to La Repubblica.

Mourinho has reportedly targeted signing a right midfielder, a central defender and a central midfielder as his key moves in this summer's transfer window. He has been handed around £200m to overhaul United's much-maligned squad.

Meanwhile, United are said to be close to completing a deal for Eric Bailly. The Ivorian defender is reported to be keen on a move to Old Trafford and could join United in the coming days.
