Nurnberg striker Josip Drmic has revealed that reports about his alleged move to Arsenal are untrue and there has been no talk about a transfer as yet.

The Bundesliga striker was reported to have completed an £8m move to the Gunners before the summer transfer window and his girlfriend was allegedly seen house hunting in London.

However, the player has refuted the claims, stating that he has no girlfriend but insisted it would be a dream come true for him to move to the Emirates.

"At the moment, I'm single. There is no one house-hunting in London. What will happen in the future, I don't know. Any boy dreams about playing for Arsenal,' Drmic said.

The Gunners are in the market for a striker to provide backup to Olivier Giroud, who has cut a lonely figure at times this season.

Drmic, who has had an outstanding season with Nurnberg thus far, is reported to be on top of Wenger's charts this season with the striker also keen on a move to north London.

He has scored 16 goals in the season till date and will be a massive addition to the squad if he can replicate his form in England.

The Gunners have suffered a lot this season owing to a lack of firepower up top with Giroud failing to put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis.

Their title charge has also tapered away owing to the lack of a striker and a season-long injury to Theo Walcott, who had scored five goals in five appearances before being stretchered away against Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup.

An injury to Aaron Ramsey came at the wrong time for the Gunners who also had to contend with the absence of key players such as Jack Wilshere, Mesut Ozil and Abou Diaby for a major part. The Gunners are currently struggling to keep their fourth spot, with Everton moving in on them fast.
