Arguably known best in the UK for his recurring role in Sky 1 series Stella opposite Ruth Jones, Welsh actor Julian Lewis Jones has revealed that he has filmed several scenes ahead of the release of eagerly-anticipated superhero instalment, Justice League. However, who he's playing and whether they are a character lifted straight from a DC Comic remains a mystery.
"I'm not allowed to say yet what part I play but let's just say I've a role in what will likely be the most expensive film ever made," he explained in a recent interview with Wales Online. "It was filmed at Warner Brother's studio at Leavesden as well as at various locations around the UK and Iceland."
While the Anglesey-born actor resisted saying which film he was talking about outright, it's pretty evident that he was talking about the follow-up to this year's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. "Directed by Zack Snyder it stars Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons and host of A-list actors," he went on to tease. "I'm just happy to have been involved and I'm looking forward to the movie's release which will be next year."
Considering that Jones confessed to shooting on at least three different locations (with the suggestion of much more), it seems safe to assume that his role in the film will be a notable one. Although, with Henry Cavill's Superman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Affleck's Batman, Ezra Miller's Flash, Jason Momoa's Aquaman, Amber Heard's Mera all to elaborate on, as well as JK Simmons' Commissioner Gordon, Amy Adams' Lois Lane and Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, there presumably won't be ample screen time to explore his character in depth.
For now, all fans can do is speculate as to who he will portray, and they'll have to wait quite a while before any news is confirmed. Justice League is currently is currently slated to reach both UK and US cinemas on 17 November 2017.
