Justin Bieber's Indian fans have waited seven years to see him live on their home soil so it's not surprising that his night (10 May) at Mumbai's DY Patil stadium was a star-studded affair.

Bollywood heavyweights such as Alia Bhatt, Ayan Mukerji, Dia Mirza, Sonali Bendre and Arjun Rampal joined thousands of other screaming fans for the eagerly-anticipated event. Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover reportedly walked in and out due to a lack of their own security and the screaming hordes.

The 23-year-old pop sensation's alleged list of outlandish demands which included "a convoy of 10 luxury sedans and 2 Volvo buses" for the singer "and his entourage of 120 people throughout their stay with a Rolls Royce reserved for the Grammy winner himself" were quickly forgotten when he took to the stage to belt out some of his biggest hits.

Actress Raveena Tandon was in the crowd singing along with other concertgoers when he performed his hit Sorry.

Hours earlier the Baby hitmaker had sent excited fans into a frenzy by announcing that he was finally on his way, writing on twitter: "Dubai is incredible... India you are next."

One ecstatic fan warned Indians to "treat him good because he deserves all the love. I love you @justinbieber#PurposeTourIndia #JustinBieberIndia

Singer Sophie Choudry informed her 1.9million followers that like a true Belieber she had cancelled a trip to Austrailia to ensure she was in town to see him.

The last time Bieber was in 2008 when he supported Usher. Now a superstar in his own right, fans had paid upwards of Rs 5,000 and travelled from across the country to witness the rare gig.
