The covert hacktivist group Anonymous have threatened to take down rapper Kanye West if the outspoken star doesn't issue a public apology for all his wrongdoings.

In an unnerving seven-minute video posted on YouTube, the online activist collective – or somebody claiming to be affiliated with the group, which has many factions – launched a scathing attack on the self-proclaimed king of hip hop.

The video, which shows a person in a Guy Fawkes mask, a symbol associated with the group, has already garnered almost 130,000 views.

"Our tolerance with your arrogant and distasteful behaviour to gain attention online has reached its end. We will be watching you," the video is captioned.

Listing his apparent multitude of sins such as his stage invasions at award ceremonies, foray into fashion and the cosigning of his wife's Break the Internet campaign last year, the voice in the video claims he is "out of control" and desperately needs a lesson in humility. From his music to choice of wife, most aspects of his personal and professional life are targeted.

"You're like a spoiled child in a grown man's body who is ready to set off a boiling tantrum the very moment you don't get all the things you want. I bet your wife is subconsciously fed up of raising a little boy for a husband," a creepy voice says in the message.

His reality star wife Kim Kardashian does not escape unscathed either. Her rise to fame on the back of a sex tape is called into question along with her moral compass.

"A woman who skates through life with the praises and worship fielded by the leak of a sex tape on the internet. Really Mr West? Is this the best you could do with so many talented, artistic women across countries?" the mystery man asks.

In their bid to hit West where it hurts, Anonymous leaves no stone unturned and even the Only One hitmaker's late mother Donda West gets a mention.

"Your mother would have loved it. I'm sure she would have been jumped right in the picture for her own close-up. Oh, Mr West, I'm sure she would have been delighted with the both of you. I bet even Jesus himself would be proud to walk with you. My, you have changed since your humble beginnings, but you have never once been humble."

The stern warning concludes with a vow to exclude his legacy from the renaissance era.

"It's time to awaken from your insanity Mr West. In reality you're not a Renaissance man, you're just are a new slave that the industry uses to keep the population in a cycle of stupidity and distraction," the narrator says.

West has not commented on the video.
