Katie Price says she received messages from Oscar Pistorius during his trial Getty

Katie Price has claimed she received messages from Oscar Pistorius during his trial over the shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

According to the Daily Mirror, after the former glamour model discussed the court case in her magazine column and said she would not "judge" the paralympian based on news reports, she was contacted by him.

The athlete, 27, reportedly started following the mother-of-five on Twitter a month later and sent a message to thank her for the support.

Speaking to 3am, she said: "He was direct messaging me during the case. It's weird, isn't it? He was saying, 'Thanks for the support,' and stuff. Just all general chit-chat. He was the first one to message me.

"Because I mentioned him in my column, he was referencing that. I wasn't exactly supporting him, but everyone who goes through a trial will be the only one who knows what really happened."

Price only noticed the messages when her brother, Dan, spotted them and she says she couldn't believe it.

"He said, 'Oh my god, Kate – have a look at who's direct messaged you on Twitter.' I said, 'It's got to be fake.' He said, 'No, it's from his verified account.'"

The 36-year-old also revealed her dream would be to make her own Louis Theroux-style prison documentary, and interview Pistorius. She said, "I would interview him, I would love to." .

"I would love to go into the prisons and interview people. I would love to do something like Louis Theroux Meets... that is my dream."
