Katy Perry has been named as 2015's highest-paid female celebrity in the world, earning $135m (£86m) just last year, according to Forbes.

The 30-year-old came third in the entire list behind boxing champions Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao who bagged themselves $300m and $190m respectively.

Understandably given it's running time, Perry's high performance in this year's list can mostly be put down to her third concert tour, The Prismatic World, which is said to have earned her $2m in every different city visited across the 126 shows performed -- 75 of which were overseas.

Not only is the money earned down to ticket sales either. The California Gurls singer allegedly raked in an extra $20 per person attending each gig when it came to merchandise sales.

She also acted as headliner for the half-time show at this year's Super Bowl XLIX which was watched by 118.5 million people.

Her deals with beauty brands Coty, Covergirl and retailer Claire's have also helped her reach such a huge yearly gross.

One Direction were just one space behind Perry in the list in fourth place, despite losing fellow band-member Zayn Malik earlier in the year. The band's vast schedule on tour combined with early ticket sales saw them earn $130m as a collective.

Other female stars that appeared on the list included Taylor Swift ranking at number eight (earning $80m) and Lady Gaga, who reached the 25th spot. Swift's latest album 1989 was the biggest-selling record of 2014 whilst Lady Gaga also earned a lot from her special shows with legendary crooner Tony Bennett. Beyoncé (#29), Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lawrence (#34) (#35) and Ellen DeGeneres (#35) also featured on the list.

Perry and Swift were the only female celebrities to make it into the top ten. American radio and television personality Howard Stern came in at number five whereas country music singer Garth Brooks was sixth. Number seven's slot was occupied by crime author James Patterson, immediately followed by actor Robert Pattinson. Positions eight and ten were filled by Avengers star Robert Downey Jr and footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
