Pop star Katy Perry has made history after hosting the world's first-ever global fan-led Skype interview.

The 27-year-old singer answered questions from 10 devoted fans from 10 countries to mark the release of her concert movie, Katy Perry: Part of Me.

The live chat, streamed on MSN, was organised by Paramount Pictures, the distributors of the film.

Fans were able to ask Perry questions about her access-all-areas documentary, which premieres in Leicester Square, London.

Explaining the reasoning behind the title of the film Perry said: "I decided the name for the movie to be Part Of Me, it's exactly what this film is. It's an exclusive, all-access part of me, almost like you were on tour with me all last year."

She told an 18-year-old fan from Finland that she always believed she would be successful.

"In a very strange way, I have always believed I could make my dreams come true. I knew it wasn't always coming to me. I had to work really hard at it, but I was born with a lot of ambition and drive.

"I see the world as my oyster. I can make things come to reality if I want. In history you see it, so why can't you do it for you?" she added.
