American TV personality and model Kendall Jenner has opened up about altering her appearance for fashion shows. The 20-year-old model revealed her eyebrows have been damaged after bleaching them for runway shows.
"I've been asked to alter my appearance in so many ways, it's not even funny! I think the worst is when designers want to mess with my eyebrows, though," the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star wrote on her website kendallj.com
"It always freaks me out because every time they do it, I lose them. They literally fall OUT! It's bad — I really hate getting a bleach. And, it's not like you can condition your eyebrows!" she added.
Jenner had dropped her famous last name in 2014 and has consistently said that she wants to be taken seriously in the modelling industry. Kim Kardashian's half-sister had listed her name simply as Kendall in the online portfolio for her modelling agency, The Society Management.
During an interview with Love Magazine, Jenner, who was named the global face of Estée Lauder, revealed how the family reality show had hindered her modelling career. She said: "I was like, 'You know what? I want to be high fashion. I want to be taken seriously'... People think that this [success] just came to me. But it didn't. What I have has almost worked against me. I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn't take me seriously as a model because of the TV show. I went on castings and some people weren't feeling me because of my name. But it was great when people didn't recognise me. I was like, 'Thank you. Please don't recognise me'."
